Exploring the West Village

Jessie and I had the best time exploring the city yesterday in the unseasonably warm weather. We found ourselves in the west village around sunset, and had so much fun taking photos. It felt wonderful to be back outside again! I can't wait for more outdoor adventures when spring is finally here for good. After our walk, I got to meet Jessie's beautiful little kitten, Mittens, who actually know how to play fetch! He is one of the cutest little creatures ever.

Oh, Child of the Moon, Bid the Sun Arise

The best cure for feeling down, is listening to The Rolling Stones, playing dress-up, and cuddling with a cute fluffy animal.

Everyone should have the one dress in their wardrobe that makes them feel completely glamorous and elegant, almost transforming you into this new, more confident being. This dress, is exactly that for me. Sure, white lace dresses and girly frills will always have a special place in my heart, but discovering that same ethereal quality in a black dress really surprised me and opened my eyes to a lot of new possibilities.
Thank you to AKIRA for the beautiful dress. You can find it here.

Sequin Collar & Velvet Circle Skirt

It's getting to be that time of year where it is just far too cold to shoot my looks outside, so I've set up a little makeshift photo studio in my teeny-tiny loft apartment. I can't wait for spring and to get to photograph in natural light, but for now it's kind of fun being able to take a break from the constant layering I need to survive outside, and to pretend it's actually warmer.

Thank you to Romwe for the super cute sequin & pearl detachable collar and circle skirt!
And thank you to Le Bunny Bleu for sending me these lovely brown oxfords :)

DIY Pearl Embellished Tights:

What you'll need:
1. A pair of tights. I chose to use thicker cotton tights because I can never seem to keep a pair of sheer tights run-free for very long.
2. Beads/Pearls. I found mine at one of the many bead stores here in the city, but they can also be found at most craft stores. They're usually pretty inexpensive, I managed to pay under $10 all of them.

3. A needle, thread, and scissors for sewing the beads onto the tights.

First, put on the pair of tights that you want to decorate. It's easier to sew the beads on while you are wearing the tights.

Then, start sewing on the beads in any pattern or fashion that you like. If you are anything like me you will accidentally stab yourself in the leg with the needle multiple times throughout this process. I started sewing from the top of my tights and worked my way down, placing the beads randomly.

Continue placing the beads until you are finished! :) Here is the final result:

Hello New Blog!

Hey everyone! I've decided to start up a new blog. I'll still be maintaining my tumblr, but I've been wanting to make a blog dedicated to my personal style and photography for a while now, so here it is! :) The new year always feels like a new blank slate, and with that I seem to feel more inspired than ever. I have a lot of big plans for the year, starting with my first meeting with a modeling agency to possibly be a test photographer! I hope they think a vintage wicker suitcase full of prints is a presentable portfolio, because that is all I have at the moment. If all goes well, hopefully I will be shooting some fashion editorials along with my usual self-portrait street style shots.
Well, here is the first batch of photos with my new lilac/silver hair and favorite vintage lace dress:
